Join us for the grand celebration of Sri Krishna Janmashtami, the most auspicious occasion marking the divine appearance of Lord Krishna in this world. This year, Krishna Heritage Center Dallas is organizing a magnificent celebration that promises to immerse devotees in the bliss of Krishna consciousness.
The Significance of Janmashtami
Janmashtami, also known as Krishna Jayanti, celebrates the birth of Lord Krishna, the Supreme Personality of Godhead, who appeared over 5,000 years ago in the city of Mathura. According to the Srimad Bhagavatam, Krishna appeared at midnight on the eighth day (Ashtami) of the dark fortnight of the month of Shravana.
Our Celebration Program
The festivities will begin in the morning with special abhishekam and continue throughout the day with kirtan, bhajans, dramatic performances depicting Krishna's childhood pastimes, and culminate with the grand midnight celebration.
Schedule of Events
- Morning Mangala Aarti: 4:30 AM
- Special Abhishekam: 10:00 AM
- Bhagavatam Class: 11:00 AM - The Appearance of Lord Krishna
- Kirtan & Bhajans: 6:00 PM onwards
- Krishna Lila Dramatic Performance: 8:00 PM
- Midnight Abhishekam & Aarti: 12:00 AM
- Grand Prasadam Feast: Following midnight aarti
Special Prasadam
Over 108 preparations will be offered to Lord Krishna during the celebration. Devotees will enjoy an elaborate feast of traditional Sattvic preparations including sweets, savories, and a variety of regional dishes.
