About This Festival
Rama Navami celebrates the appearance of Lord Rama, the seventh incarnation of Lord Vishnu. Lord Rama appeared on the ninth day (Navami) of the bright fortnight of Chaitra month to King Dasharatha and Queen Kausalya in Ayodhya.
Lord Rama is known as Maryada Purushottam - the ideal man who perfectly followed dharma in all circumstances.
